Screen and EFI have announced a partnership to establish bi-directional connectivity between Screen’s Equios universal workflow and EFI Fiery digital front ends.

John Henze, vice president for Fiery marketing at EFI, says, “Screen’s Equios platform integrated with EFI Fiery digital front ends and Fiery driven digital presses make it easy and quick to direct jobs to the appropriate systems with universal job tickets and print-ready files. The connectivity also provides Equios users access to one of the widest selections of production printers from industry leading vendors that fits today’s most demanding scenarios.”

The companies say a centralised workflow provides superior efficiency and labour savings through automation. With increased demands for short runs with fast turnarounds, and value-added services such as personalisation, they see a continuous need to improve efficiency and productivity through workflow automation and digital printing. For example, a hybrid setup of offset and digital requires seamless routing between multiple presses and centralised control with clear visualisation of each machine and job status in order to determine the most efficient production schedule and process

Tsuneo Baba, president of Screen, says, “Automation and labour saving is undoubtedly in higher demand in the current printing production environment. Seamless integration between offset prepress workflows and digital printing systems including both cut-sheet and high-speed roll-fed devices is key component to achieve this goal. The collaboration of Screen Equios workflow and EFI Fiery, one of the most reliable digital front ends with a proven track record in the world, brings great benefits to both users and potential users.”

Screen and EFI say they strongly believe that this partnership and the integrated workflow facilitates customers’ efficiency and productivity and contributes to the evolution of the printing industry through the provision of products and solutions that meet the industry’s various needs.
