FUJI XEROX’s Landing Drive facility provided the Packaging New Zealand with a ‘beautiful space’ for its annual general meeting last week.
Welcoming members and officials to the meeting, Harry Burkhardt, president of Packaging New Zealand, said, “I want to acknowledge Peter Thomas and the team at Fuji Xerox for providing this beautiful space. Like our other companies, Fuji Xerox is working hard in the area of sustainability and the environment, especially in providing what I call the off-ramps, which help everyone see how serious we are about preserving the environment. We need more visibility and not to be working in a black ops type of situation.”
To illustrate the point, he showed the audience a brief presentation of Fuji Xerox New Zealand’s industry first ‘Close the Loop’ accredited recycling programme.
Prior to the business end of the AGM, the audience heard from three speakers: Simon Upton, former cabinet minister and now parliamentary commissioner for the environment; James Walker, deputy secretary for partnership and customers at the Ministry for the Environment; and Brooke Donnelly, chief executive of Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, who brought along Anthony Peyton from PREP and Paul Klymenko from Planet Ark.

After the AGM, Packaging New Zealand members enjoyed refreshments and drinks at the venue.
