Press consumables manufacturer Trelleborg has partnered with Ink Maloberti and PCO Printing Chemicals, to expand its product range of offset blanket solutions, inks and chemicals for metal decorating applications to other industry sectors.

The three companies will launch several products at Metpack, an event for the international metal packaging industry taking place from May 2-6 in Germany. Matthias Horn, regional sales director for the EMEA market for Trelleborg, says, “It’s an exciting partnership and Metpack 2017 provides the ideal platform to demonstrate how effectively our products complement each other. Technical experts from the three manufacturers work closely together to ensure complete compatibility and effectiveness between their products.

“Vulcan is a well-established offset blanket brand in the metal decorating sector and we expect there to be a great deal of interest in our industry-leading UV blankets and the various new solutions we have for the latest energy-efficient UV technologies.”

Ink Maloberti, a family-run business that has served the metal decorating printers for 70 years, will two new inks within its Sintometal thermal, UV and LE-UV ranges.

Alessandro Maloberti, Ink Maloberti quality assurance manager, says: “Sintometal UV and TC are external metal decoration inks for general line and food packaging, designed for high speed metal printing presses including those operating low energy curing systems.

“The inks provide a range of benefits, from excellent printability to high colour rendering and good ink wet-on-wet printing. The latest versions, with improved viscosity stability and low tack, are suitable for all external metal surfaces including tin plate, TFS and aluminium. This is also the case with our more recently developed Sintometal LE low energy thermal curing inks.”

PCO Europe, part of the Printgraph Group, manufactures chemicals for the printing industry. Roberto Levi, chief executive of the Printgraph Group, says, “At Metpack 2017 we will present a new fountain solution for metal decorating applications along with a new wash up for rollers and blankets used with UV inks. Cold UV and LED UV inks are the future in this sector. It is vital to select the correct inks, chemicals and consumables to ensure they are compatible and provide the print quality required without damaging press components.”
