Fuji Xerox New Zealand has officially launched its digital production presses, the Versant 31000 and 180 together with finishing units.

The French-themed launch took place at the Fuji Xerox site near Auckland airport, where around 150 guests saw the new digital presses in action. Prior to the event, guests had received a booklet printed and finished on the Versant 3100, demonstrating the system’s capability in printing, finishing and workflow.

Previously unknown viticulturist Dominique Versante emceed the event. He delivered a humorous introduction but left the details to Fuji Xerox stalwart Bryce Biggs, who briefly backgrounded Fuji Xerox’s history in the local industry some of its innovations for this year.

Alistair Egan, marketing manager at Fuji Xerox New Zealand says, “The new Versant models, the 3100 and the 180, have been designed to meet the finishing needs of on demand printing. Combined with Fuji Xerox’s suite of finishing solutions, these presses now offer an end to end digital print and finishing solution. This enables printers to take advantage of any number of new opportunities such as short run bookletmaking.

The Versant 3100 Press can print 100ppm and the Versant 180 Press prints at 80ppm. Both deliver 2400dpi fine resolution with paper handling capability ranging from 52 to 400gsm for the 3100.

At the front end, the printers use the GX Print Server, equipped with the latest RIP technology APPE3. They can also use EFI Fiery with the latest Fiery NX Premium ad NX Pro servers, incorporating the new Fiery QuickTouchTM.

Egan says, “The Versant 180 Press prints faster on more media types and delivers the Fuji Xerox innovation advantage with more standard features, a powerful performance option and efficiency boosting workflows to keep jobs moving with less wasted time and materials.

“At a faster speed, and engineered from the ground up, the Versant 3100 press will consistently let you do more with more automation, making jobs accurate and efficient.”
